Editorial Policy

The Board of Editors considers for publication, papers that bear directly or indirectly on primary and secondary cancer prevention including the role of genetics, molecular oncogenesis, biotechnology, biochemistry, immunology, virology, toxicology, radiation oncology, pathology, biostatistics, public health, etc.

The editors accept unsolicited and commissioned full-length papers and short communications that furnish current, original data and experience pertinent to the immediate interest of readers. Supplements publish select papers from symposia. All manuscripts undergo stringent peer review.

Articles also may be confined to single disciplines in studies of molecular epidemiology, control of cell kinetics, molecular basis of drug resistance, immune deficiency and cancer, environmental carcinogens, detection systems including cost-benefits, health behavior, and education.

Letters to the editor are printed that deal with published articles or matters of current interest within the field. Notices appear of pertinent new publications, forthcoming meetings, special announcements, and other informative features. The last issue of each volume (November/December) includes the title and contents pages and detailed subject and author indexes, ready for binding.

Cancer Detection and Prevention is among the over 400 journals that have agreed to receive manuscripts prepared in accordance with the Uniform Requirements of Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (N Engl J Med 1991;324:424-428).
